A notification window appears if there is an incoming call while you are online. If the Answer/Accept and Ignore/Reject boxes are "grayed out," then:
- You have not established a V.92 connection with your ISP or online service provider. We suggest you contact your ISP or online service provider and ask them if and when they plan to deploy V.92 (along with Modem-on-Hold) in you area.
Note: You can also query the modem to determine if the previous connection attempt was V.92. To do this, see SmartFact #412.
- If you are making a V.92 connection, then your ISP or online service provider may not have the Modem-on-Hold feature. You need to check with your ISP or online service provider to be sure that they have Modem-on-Hold enabled on their end.
- You must have call waiting or call waiting plus (call waiting with caller ID) in place on your phone line. Note that call waiting plus is required in order for the notification window to display the caller ID information.
If you have the Agere chipset-based Zoom/Modem V.92 PCI, Model 3025L or 3025N (which contains an "L" or "N" in the serial number, located on the white sticker next to the phone jacks on the back bracket), and there is a Z in the Windows task bar, then you are using the latest device driver (version 8.12) and Modem-on-Hold application. If not, click here or visit the Model 3025L or 3025N support pages for more information.
If you have the Conexant chipset-based Zoom/Modem V.92 PCI, Model 3025C (which contains a "C" in the serial number), the device driver and Modem-on-Hold application (NetWaiting) that shipped with your modem are the latest versions. Future upgrades will be posted on the Model 3025C support page.
