This answer applies to Zoom router models 4501, 4504, 4506AG, and 4506BG.
The following provides general information for tethering an Apple iPhone® to a Zoom mobile broadband router. This information assumes that your 3G/4G data plan allows tethering. Also, the steps below may vary depending on your 3G/4G service provider and iPhone model or iOS version.
- Refer to the Requirements table below to determine iPhone, service provider, and Zoom router requirements for tethering ability.
- Connect one end of the USB cable to the Zoom router and the other end to the iPhone.
- On the iPhone, go to Settings → General → Network → Personal Hotspot (or Internet Tethering), and then tap ON.
Note: If you see a choice between Bluetooth tethering or USB, select USB. - If you haven't already done so, enter your service provider's settings on the Zoom router:
- Turn on your Zoom router and connect a computer or other device to it either wirelessly or via the Ethernet port.

For Zoom router model 4501, 4506AG, or 4506BG: Open a web browser and type http://192.168.1.1 (the router’s default LAN IP address) in the address bar. Press Enter.
- When the Status page appears, type admin in the System Password field at the top of the page, and then click Login.
- Click the Advanced icon at the top of the page, and then click Basic Settings.
- On the Basic Settings page, in the left column pane, click Basic Setup.
- On the Basic Setup page, ensure that WAN Type is set to 3G/4G/LTE.
- Enter the information for your service provider—such as APN, Dialed Number, Username, and Password—and then click Save. If you are unsure of the settings, refer to Answer 1030 where we provide settings for many service providers.
