As I write this, America Online (AOL) is not V.92 compliant. It has no V.92 modems in its list of supported modems.
The good news is that your new Zoom/Modem V.92 EXT modem is also a V.90 modem, as well. AOL supports V.90 modems.
After following the installation instructions that came with your new modem, start the AOL application. Now you have two choices.
If you are an experienced AOL user, use the EXPERT SETUP built into AOL. Change the selected modem to the "Hayes Error Correcting." Save the changes.
If you are an inexperienced AOL user, use the click SETUP in the AOL Welcome window. Select the "Configure a New Modem" radio button. After a period of time AOL should select "Unknown - Hayes Error Correcting." Save the changes.
You are now ready to sign on.
