How can I enable my Zoom modem to allow Remote Administration?

Please be certain that you have the model "56xx" version of this modem with firmware version2.1.0 before proceeding. You can confirm your model through the Serial Number that is located on the bottom of the modem. It will be in the format "nnnn-56xx-nn-nn-nnnn".

If you have the "A" version of the X3, X4, X5 modem ( i.e.: nnnn-nnn-nn-nnA-nnnn ) or model "56xx" with firmware older than 2.1.0 then please use this FAQ

To Enable Remote Administration on your Zoom ADSL modem please follow these steps:

NOTE: Before proceeding with the Remote Admin Setup you must make sure your ADSL modem is configured properly for internet access. Please follow the Basic Setup Instructions in the Manual.

Click Advanced Setup button from the top.
Click Management Control Button
Place a check mark in the box under WAN Access for HTTP.
Click Save Settings
Click Write Settings to Flash

Now you may access the Zoom modems Admin Web Console remotely from the Internet side of the modem.

NOTE: To access the modem's admin console from the internet you must know your WAN IP address. To find out what your WAN IP address is click on the System Status button on the top bar and locate your WAN side IP address.
