There may be a problem with the cable connection. Use a standard Ethernet cable when connecting the modem to an "uplink" port of an hub or switch. Use a crossover Ethernet cable when connecting the modem to a standard LAN port. The modem's LAN LED will turn on when there is a good cable connection.
