I am trying to install several Zoom USB ADSL Modems using the RFC-1483 driver. While all goes well during the installation, all modems seem to use a single hardware MAC Address, which makes it impossible for me to use the modems. So I would like know how

ADSL modems as well as analog modems do not use physical MAC addresses. Instead, ADSL modems use PPP (PPPoE) to connect. The LCP Layer in PPP negotiates how packets will be identified. When you install the ADSL modem, it sets up a PPP adapter on your computer. These PPP adapters will all display the same MAC address. PPP handles everything else.

NICs and cable modems need MAC addresses as they do not use PPP.
