Zoom's first programmable-internal DSP 56K models were the Zoom/FaxModem 56K internal (Model 2819) which features 14,400 fax capability, Plug and Play for easy installation, and advanced lightning protection. This means that all modem code, both DSP code and Controller code, can be easily modified by the user with simple software commands without touching the modem. This makes it easy to make sure the modem code is the "latest and greatest", and to add features including upgrades to V.90 standards.

Program Files - Installation Files

Modem Utilities Disk (.exe file) for our Rockwell chipset, K56flex and V.90, Dualmode internal faxmodems. Disk includes INF files for use with Windows 95/98/ME/NT. This is a self-extracting file.

Windows 2000 INF files (.exe file) for ZOOM/Rockwell K56Flex/V.90 ISA, External and PCMCIA (PC Card) modem models.

Port Wizard (.exe file) Program for use with DOS and Windows 3.1/3.11 and our Rockwell chipset, K56flex, Internal, ISA faxmodems that are PnP (Plug and Play) only with no manual jumpers (models 2800 & 2802). Windows 3.x is not Plug and Play compliant. This is a self-extracting file. Extract the 2 compressed files and place them in your "C:\" or root directory. These files will run each time you boot-up to designate which com port your PnP - only modem will use.

Flash Files

All TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) programs such as screen savers and anti-virus programs including any communications programs that could interfere with the flash process must be temporarily disabled before running this flash file. If the flash process is disrupted in any way, it could cause damage to the modem and necessitate the modem to be sent in for repair.

V.90 Upgrade for Zoom Internal FaxModems

V.90 flash upgrade for internal K56Flex modem models 2819 and 2819A with K56Flex code version 1.200. This flash is also for use with internal 2805C models that have already been software-upgraded to K56Flex code version 1.200. This file is for use with Windows 95/98. This is a self-extracting file.

2805C: Endusers who have previously upgraded from 33.6 to K56Flex code version 1.14 via a phone dial-up for a fee must first update to the latest K56Flex code 1.200 before upgrading to V.90. See "What Code Do I Have?" below. Once you have the latest K56Flex code installed you can upgrade to the latest V.90 code. All of the files on this page are free.

2819 & 2819A: Endusers who have K56Flex code prior to V1.200 must first update to the latest K56Flex code 1.200 before upgrading to V.90. See "What Code Do I Have?" below. Once you have the latest K56Flex code installed you can upgrade to the latest V.90 code.

What Code Do I Have?
Type ATI3 in any terminal program such as Hyperterminal, ProComm+, Comit, etc. to find your current code version. Make sure that you've selected the Comport your modem is on in your terminal program. There is usually an "Options," "Tools," "Modem Setup," or "Configuration" choice in the menu bar of most terminal programs to select your comport.

This code is for the internal 56KV K56flex modem only. It is not the V.90 upgrade code for the 2819. This file is a self extracting file.

This program is NOT for any External, DualMode, Speakerphone, or PCMCIA modem products. This self extracting file (IZ210KVU.exe) creates a flash upgrade program that runs on IBM compatible computers running Windows 95, 98 or 3.1 ONLY. A detailed readme.txt file and informative wizard are included.
